The Twelve Days of Winter

As I sit here basking in the warmth of my woodstove as the thermometer plummets to 28 below zero & we all wait for winter’s next windswept storm surge of ice, cold & snow,
I thought I’d share a humorous take on a familiar tome.
Because a little levity in the middle of winter never hurt anyone.

**********
THE TWELVE DAYS OF WINTER

Twelve Snowstorms Blowing

Eleven Plows a Plowing

Ten Shovelers Shoveling

Nine Whiteout Warnings

Eight Paws Patrolling

Seven Snowbanks Forming

Six Gears a Groaning

FIVE – GODAMNED – THINGS!

Four Cursing Words

Three Frozen Toes

Two Pairs of Gloves

AND – A – TURKEY- IN- A – PEAR – TREE

Make that EIGHT!

Stay Safe & Warm out there through midwinter’s arctic storm blasts.
& Above all else…
Stay SMART!

Don’t know what your problem is, we’re enjoying a sunny 5 degree heat wave!
5 above zero?! So global warming IS real!!! Thanks for the check in, Alan. Stay safe & warm.
Hats off (better yet, keep them on!) to a delightful take on a beloved holiday ditty. Knowing there’s nothing fun about your freezing cold weather, it’s admirable to create a chuckle from it all.
Stay warm and safe up there!

Thanks for the check in & comments Randy. Greatly appreciated. Hope you are staying warm & safe through what is proving to be, at least in my neck of the woods, both in terms of the snow & cold, a(nother) in a long line of challenging winter seasons.
As a lifelong Tupper Laker I know full well of what you write “The Twelve Days of Winter”
I liked it very much
Tupper Lake folks certainly know all about winter! I grew up in SL myself. Thank you for reading & commenting, Dean. Greatly appreciated.
