Trump’s not the problem…. He’s just one of the symptoms.
I agree in the sense that Trump has successfully tapped into a pre-existing artery to feed his narcissistic ambitions. Regardless, as far as I’m concerned, he and those who conspired with him remain insurrectionist traitors, willing to discard democracy to feed his ambitions. Personally, I hold those who continue to support his self-focused autocratic ambitions complicit in the effort to repeat that. I predicted before his 1st election that he would never leave the White House voluntarily. He considers it, and America as a nation, his personal possession, to do with as he pleases. If he’s re-elected, he will do whatever it takes to ensure he & his progeny permanently retain title and power. My grandchildren will grow up without knowing the freedom of living in a democracy, and those who support him will have helped make that happen. These are perilous times. Freedom and Democracy are not guaranteed. Once they are gone, they are gone. There will be no going back. I once swore an oath to protect this great nation from all enemies, both foreign and domestic. I still take that vow seriously. As a citizen and writer, my duty and power lie in my pen and my vote.
