The River Calling
Posted On August 7, 2022
Beneath forgotten trestle’s flow
Rainfall bounty, melted snow
Where heron, bass, and beaver go
I can hear
The river calling
Misted memory’s mountain home
Rocky rapid’s rippled foam
Long lost laughter skipping stones
I can hear
The river calling
We swam, we fished
Wind’s whispered wish
Wild water’s kiss
I can hear
The river calling
Beneath its depths
Heart’s treasures rest
Life’s secrets kept
I can hear
The river calling
My hopes, my fears
My dreams, my tears
Through passing years
I can hear
The river calling

Thank you for this ❤️
I got goosebumps. It’s like I was taking a trip downriver as the words flowed. Dick, you truly know how to reach folks through your words.
Thank you…Aunt Susie
